Since I was very little, I've loved listening to people's stories. The many elements of what makes a person "them" is a fascinating concept I never get sick of. This innate curiosity has led me down the road of becoming a therapist, where I am privileged to witness the resilience, vulnerability, and strength of individuals every day.

Central to my approach is empowering clients to become their own advocates and to embrace their own differences or quirks. Something I often say to clients is we want to work with your brain, not against it. Life is already hard enough! I am committed to cultural humility, valuing diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. People are the experts in their own lives and I honor this by encouraging feedback and tailoring therapy to individual needs. As a fellow neurodivergent, I love to spend a ridiculous amount of time learning how to best serve each client.

In my integrative therapeutic style, I draw from various modalities with the client's informed input. Modalities I primarily use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Feedback-Informed Treatment, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Solutions-Focused. I strive to keep up with current research and provide as many scientific-based explanations as is relevant, if desired by the client.

Education-wise, I hold a MA in Social Work with a Mental Health and Substance Misuse emphasis from Ohio State University and a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University-Idaho. I have work and volunteer experience with "at-risk" youth, those with various special needs, and undergrad-level research settings. I currently hold an associate license as a LSWAIC and a LMHCA and work directly with a licensed supervisor, Dr. Joshua Opatowsky, DSW, LICSW, CCATP, ASDCS.

Outside of my practice, I cherish spending time outdoors with my awesome partner and dog indulging in activities like biking, long-distance running, kayaking, and snowboarding. I'm also passionate about art and have a background in classical music.
